An Old Fashioned German Christmas in Maeystown

Participate in a traditional German Christmas with music, carriage rides, shopping and more. First Sunday in December each year. Carriage rides and visits with Sankt Nikolaus will be available. This year’s even will feature the Band Room Brass ensemble strolling through town, as well as music from the Valmeyer High School chorus and band, Carl Seavers and Jim Abbott on hammered dulcimer, and Mardy Eisloeffel on accordion. There will be a German carol sing at 3 p.m. in the Corner George…

St. John Church Fastnacht

German pancake and sausage Dinner Tuesday before Ash Wednesday each year. The day before Ash Wednesday activity at the church hall starts with a family style dinner of pancakes, sausage, applesauce and doughnuts from 5 to 8 p.m., and ends with German music by the New Hanover Deutschmeisters from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost for the evening is $8 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-12. Spring Art Show
